Walks

The Nature Park offers a variety of walks to include the different lakes and habitats in the park, covering almost 6.5 miles.

Walks through the Nature Park are on old industrial tracks and clay banks, linking back to the days when the site was used to extract gravel from underground.

Around half of the paths are hard surface, including virtually all of the routes south of the railway. Waymarkers, made from recycled plastic, guide visitors safely around one-way routes.

There are over 30 seats and 7 bird hides, six adapted for wheel chair access, and a set of seven large interpretation boards explaining the habitats and species to be seen through the seasons.

You can collect a trail guide, showing the different walks available, from reception in the Natural World Centre.
