Wander through the years of Whisby in new exhibition at the Natural World Centre
Visitors to the Natural World Centre can now enjoy a new programme of exhibitions thanks to their recent development creating a fresh new space for exhibitions and events. Located downstairs, the area used to house their ‘Our Changing World’ exhibition which opened to the public back in 2004.
Now called ‘The Cygnet Suite’, it is a multi-use area and can accommodate meetings and conferences as well as well as private events such as birthday parties and weddings.
The first exhibition of the year opened earlier this month and will give visitors the chance to wander through the years of Whisby Nature Reserve’s changing landscape. Whisby has a long history from agricultural fields and gravel pits through to the tranquil nature reserve it is today.
The exhibition includes pictures, maps, artefacts and memories all kindly supplied by those involved in the development and management of the site including sustainable building materials group – Tarmac, Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust and North Kesteven District Council.
There is also a children’s area to sit, draw and be inspired by our own Mammoth’s tusk!
Through the Years – A History of Whisby is open to the public until Sunday 26 February.
