We are pleased to announce we play host to a Knit and Chat morning group.
This is a monthly meet up taking place on the last Wednesday of every month.
The sessions are informal and a perfect opportunity to while away the time enjoying the views from the Boardwalk Cafe balcony.
It has proven to be a great way of meeting new people whilst knitting and to also enjoy a nice cup of coffee and piece of cake, or even have a spot of lunch afterwards.
The group meets at 10am and finish at 12 noon. There is no charge but it is advised that you bring your own materials along with you.
The Natural World Centre will be jointly hosting an exhibition with the Lincolnshire Archives about genealogy and local Lincolnshire history which will run from 30th January - 22nd April 2012.
There will be a number of FREE talks and events throughout and will take place within the Upper Gallery Exhibition Space. Please see below the dates and information about the different events.
The Lincolnshire Archives will be hosting free drop in events on the 8th and 17th March running from the 11am – 4pm.
The 8th March will be Local Lincolnshire History - a perfect opportunity for you to gain advice on how to research your birth place of your ancestors.
On the 17th March - Lincolnshire Family History Day, which will be free advice on how to research your family tree and also how to use Lincolnshire Archives services and their new online search programme ‘Lincs to the Past’.
Artist Peter Rooke and author Michael J Jones will also be offering a free talk entitled: ‘Lincoln: Townscapes through Time’ on the 22nd March between 10.30 – 11.30am within the Upper Gallery Space.
The exhibition will include video footage filmed by Blow by Blow, which documents Lincoln through out time.
Andrew Blow from Blow by Blow will also giving a free talk entitled ‘Bygone Lincoln on Film’ about the footage that he has captured on film.
The talk will take place on the 28th March 2012 between 2 – 3pm within the Upper Gallery Space.
The Lincolnshire Victorians will at the Centre in traditional Victorian dress and to discuss life within the Victorian Period on 18th February, 24th March and 14th April.
There will be various Children’s Workshops during February (13th – 17th) and Easter Half Term Holidays (2nd – 12th April). All workshops will be charged at £2.50 per child. Please see the Children's Activities page for further details.
